City Coalition Positions

Below are the positions that must be filled by the members of The Richmond City Coalition so that we are able to be an active, efficient, and effective coalition. A lot of positions were created to ensure that no one position will become to much for one member and can easily be taken over by another if necessary.

  • Richmond City Coalition Meeting Secretary—This is a temporary position to be filled during each meeting of the Richmond City Coalition. The Meeting Secretary is to obtain the names and contact information of each meeting attendee, take note of key decisions made by the Coalition, take note of upcoming activities of the Coalition, note the dates and times of upcoming Coalition and/or subcommittee meetings, and distribute this information within in 5 business days to all the attendees of the meeting. The Coalition Chair will distribute the meeting notes to listserv.
  • Richmond City Coalition Chair—This is a year long position that begins in March and ends in March of the subsequent year. The Chair duties shall include, but not be limited to: calling and presiding over Richmond City Coalition meetings, sending an updated message to the Coalition biweekly, recruiting members to fill positions in the event one becomes vacant (especially temporary positions at key times), attending as many events as possible of the Coalition, promoting collaborations between member organizations, seeking new collaborations for the Coalition.
  • Richmond City Coalition Vice Chair—This is a year long position that begins in March and end in March of the subsequent year.  The Vice Chair’s function as the Chair of the Coalition in the event the Chair cannot. The Vice Chair primary duty shall be to recruit new members to the Richmond City Coalition. The Vice Chair will also manage the Coalition’s listserv, citycoalition@connectnetwork.org and email, citycoalition@connectnetwork.org.  The Vice Chair may establish temporary committees to carry out a recruitment activity.
  • Marketing Chair—The Marketing Chair is a temporary position and shall be chosen in the planning stage of each event of the Coalition. The Marketing Chair primary duty shall be to advertise for the Coalition’s events by send press releases, public service announcements, and flyers to designated media outlets.
  • Member Recruitment Chair—This a temporary position which should be chosen in the planning stage of each event of the Coalition and/or key events of other organizations attended by the members of the Coalition. The Member Recruitment Chair primary duty shall be to inform event attendees about their opportunity to attend the Coalition meetings. The Member Recruitment Chair shall target representatives of fellow social serving organizations as well as residents of the neighborhoods the Coalition serves.
  • Volunteer Chair—The Volunteer Chair is a temporary position and shall be chosen in the planning stage of each event of the Coalition.
  • Research and Development Chair—This is a temporary position that should be chosen when the Coalition considers or decides to embark on a new initiative, i.e. expansion to an additional neighborhood, targeting an additional issue
  • Southwood Project Committee Chair—Lead in community outreach and event planning in the Southwood Community.
  • Southwood Project Committee Vice Chair—Lead in community research in the Southwood Community.
  • Highland Park Project Committee Chair—Lead in community outreach and event planning in Highland Park Committee.
  • Southwood Project Committee Meeting Secretary-- This is a temporary position to be filled during each meeting of of the Southwood Project Committee. The Meeting Secretary is to obtain the names and contact information of each meeting attendee, take note of key decisions made by the committee, take note of upcoming activities of the committee, note the dates and times of upcoming committee and/or subcommittee meetings, and distribute this information within in 2 business days to all the attendees of the meeting. The Comittee Chair will distribute the meeting notes to listserv.

 

  • Highland Park Project Committee Vice Chair—Lead in community research in Highland Park Committee.

 

  • Highland Park Project Committee Meeting Secretary-- This is a temporary position to be filled during each meeting of of the Highland Park Project Committee. The Meeting Secretary is to obtain the names and contact information of each meeting attendee, take note of key decisions made by the committee, take note of upcoming activities of the committee, note the dates and times of upcoming committee and/or subcommittee meetings, and distribute this information within in 2 business days to all the attendees of the meeting. The Comittee Chair will distribute the meeting notes to listserv.
  • Fundraising Chair – This a temporary position that should be chosen in the planning stage of each event of the Coalition or a Coalition Committee. The will be responsible for the recruitment of funds to give the Coalition or a Committee the capacity to perform a key activity.
